With a name like Doherty, you probably think I'm Irish.
Well, you're one-fourth right. About 50% of me is
second generation Sicilian (on my mother's side) and the
remaining 25% is Hungarian–thanks to my father's mother.
I'm definitely a mixed bag.
I live in Gahanna. And I love it!
Convenient to everything, Gahanna is right next to the
airport (but it doesn't feel like it's right next to the
airport, if you know what I mean). It's a mere 8 miles
from downtown Columbus, and a hop, skip and a jump to
Easton–a shopping and food fantasy-land. Stretching
through Gahanna is Hamilton Road, with stores and shops that
offer just about everything you could want.
Gahanna has grown so quickly over the past few years, you
can't help but feel it's really going somewhere. Or
maybe it has arrived. Gahanna was recently rated one
of the top 100 places to live by Money Magazine (July 2007). |

I have three cats. Oddly enough, cats were
never my favorite things. I'd always been extremely
allergic to them. One day, about six years ago, a
beautiful, reddish-blond, long-hair feline, sauntered up to
my front door. In spite of my indifference, he decided
my home would be his. Before I knew it, he became my
best buddy. That was the beginning of my love affair
with cats. And the end of my allergies. Now, I
have a total of three cats. I'm seriously thinking
about adopting a fourth.
I try to stay fit. On any given morning, you
can catch me working out at Lifestyle Family Fitness right
across from the Stone Ridge Plaza shopping center. But
if you blink, you'll miss me. I make it a point to
keep my visits short. Very short.
I'm passionate about music. For a number of
years, I studied and played the French horn. I
considered pursuing it professionally. Then, one day,
I decided to get braces on my teeth. (I was well out
of my teen years at the time.) That put an end to my
dream of playing 1st Horn with the Chicago Symphony.
Or the Palookaville Symphony, for that matter.
I received a B.A. degree from Columbia College of
Columbia University.
Anything I may have learned has long been forgotten.
